People & Culture
OVERVIEW
-Responsible for recruiting, onboarding, retention, and wellbeing of all HEC members
DURING THE YEAR
-Implements appreciation and bonding events, cross-departmental trainings, engagement events, and reward systems
-Monitors the overall student experience and culture within the HEC community
DURING EVENTS
-Manage and coordinate volunteers
-Distribute and track uniforms, student name tags, and radios
-Conduct volunteer and team orientation training sessions
F&B Service/Philanthropy
OVERVIEW
-Service: facilitates great food experiences and intimate, virtual connection among guests
-Philanthropy: executes a silent auction to support the efforts of World Central Kitchen
DURING THE YEAR
-Service: plan virtual engagements and training for an in-person gala (Emphasize guest connection and comfort)
-Philanthropy: secure donations and prepare a virtual auctioning platform for execution
DURING EVENTS
-Service: pack and send meal kits (For an in-person event, set-up, serve, and clear the dining room)
-Philanthropy: Seek donations for WCK and bids for the auction during the virtual and/or in-person event in the Spring
Food &Beverage
OVERVIEW
-Assists all F&B teams (Beverage, Culinary, Design, F&B Service, and Procurement) in executing F&B virtual and in-person events
DURING THE YEAR
-Create BEOs and floorplans for events, brainstorm creative ideas onhow to reach out to guests virtually, and work through logistics/ planning of events
-Promote communication across all teams
DURING EVENTS
-Act as a second set of hands for all teams
-Understand each team’s activities and be able to answer questions and help as needed
Rooms
OVERVIEW
-Creates memorable guest experiences through communication and guest amenities
DURING THE YEAR
-Develop and define communication and general approach for the year
-Reach out to guests throughout the year to help answer any questions they have and welcome them to HEC
-Research amenities and packaging ideas to send to guests
DURING EVENTS
-Package and ship amenities
-Reach out to guests during events to see if they need anything
-Help answer any questions they may have
Impact & Inclusion
OVERVIEW
-Creates a strategy that includes diversity, engagement, and safety of all students
DURING THE YEAR
-Arrange internal structural changes, host speaker events, collaborate with other clubs, propose and execute numerous internal initiatives
DURING EVENTS
-Lend a helping hand to other teams
-Look at the internal structure of HEC, seeing our ideas come to life through the execution of events
Marketing & Media
OVERVIEW
-Creates engaging content and interacts with internal and external audiences while representing the HEC brand in the best way possible
DURING THE YEAR
-Prepares and creates campaigns throughout the year, interacts with audiences through digital print media/content, and works to increase awareness and engagement
-Trainings based on Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, social media insights, and communication and brand standards
DURING EVENTS
-Works with the Programs & Innovation team to gather content
-Interacts with followers on social media
-Helps teams in need of assistance
Programs & Innovation
OVERVIEW
-Tackles both the conference programming and implementation of innovative ideas for HEC, including all video and photo production
DURING THE YEAR
-Programs: reaches out to alumni, industry leaders, and distinguished guests, and invites them to be speakers for our conference; coordinates their schedules, presentations, and any needs before and during the conference
-Innovations: HEC think tank team that creates and implements creative solutions to problems across all HEC departments
DURING EVENTS
-Runs the show—from technology, to timing, to even filming the behind the scenes to showcase every student’s hard work
-Captures all HEC events to share with the public across digital platforms
Design
OVERVIEW
-Brings the theme of the conference to life for the guests through décor, ambiance, and other aspects
DURING THE YEAR
-Plans, brainstorms, and executes projects to capture the conference theme
-Projects can be large installations, graphic design, décor, lighting, music playlists, and more
-Receive training in design skills (Adobe, construction lifts, wood cutters, etc.)
-A lot of hands on experience, whether in-person or remote
DURING EVENTS
-Watch hard work come to fruition
-Install/set up design aspects and fix things when needed
Culinary
OVERVIEW
-In charge of all HEC food events, from planning to execution
DURING THE YEAR
-Develops menus, creates food orders and preparation plans, and practices for culinary events
-Fall semester events will serve as practice and training for the more widely attended Spring Events
-Will conduct virtual training and team cook-alongs for training and bonding
-Designs innovative culinary events (new ideas welcome!)
DURING EVENTS
-Prepares and plates menu items
-This conference, a lot of culinary programming will be asynchronous
-Pre-prepping food and content for events
Sales & Finance
OVERVIEW
-Connect with industry professional for Sales, and work behind the scenes for Finance, working with departments on their budgets
DURING THE YEAR
-Collaborate with other departments and external organizations
-Execute outreach strategies, while utilizing multiple platforms to market events
-Complete training on financial reports and related budget work
DURING EVENTS
-Offer support to other departments
-Work with every department through sales outreach/expense tracking beforehand
-Opportunity to take initiative and be involved with projects to influence Sales & Finance strategies
Procurement & Donor Relations
OVERVIEW
-Handles the purchasing and receiving of items and donations for every department throughout the entire year
DURING THE YEAR
-Learn the supply chain process through ordering thousands of dollars of items and manage the distribution of items
-Ensure all departments have what they need for the event
DURING EVENTS
-Work closely with selected departments to manage their orders
-Ex. Help Design build a cool item or help Culinary or Beverage make their products
Beverage
OVERVIEW
-Executes all beverage programming, ensuring guests can connect and network over drinks
DURING THE YEAR
-Collaborates to create recipes for specialty cocktails and mocktails for all HEC events
-Plan and execute beverage programming and seminars which feature beverage producers and owners
-Create a training program to educate students about bartending (to later apply to be beverage servers at the conclusion of training)
-Create meal kits to bring the HEC F&B experience to guests’ homes
DURING EVENTS
-Facilitates the guest experience through the developed beverage programming( Virtual or in-person)
-Create cocktails/mocktails to be distributed to guests
-Manage bars for in-person events
